Burnaby, BC (Vocus/PRWEB) April 12, 2011

Vancouver Career College is pleased to announce its new Graphic Design Technology Specialist diploma program. The first class will begin on May 30th at the Burnaby campus.

The Graphic Design Technology Specialist program teaches students to become proficient in a host of industry-standard software, such as QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and After Effects.

This is an excellent program that prepares students for the new realities of the design and multimedia industries, says Bohdan Bilan, Vice President of Academics for Vancouver Career College. Design technology continues to progress rapidly, and this program is tailored to help students keep pace.

Students learn to create digital images, develop editing and processing skills and become specialists in using technology to digitally manipulate photos, create website prototypes and application interfaces. They will also learn to produce interactive digital media projects, including motion graphics.

Graduates of this program are prepared to seek employment in multimedia and digital support, such as web and graphic design specialists, design software specialists, or other roles in the digital media and graphics field.

There is a strong demand in BC for workers with the skills and training they receive in this program, says Larry Heinzlmeir, Vice-President of Marketing, Vancouver Career College. The Graphic Design Technology program serves this industry demand by producing highly skilled design technology professionals who are assets to their employers.
